Motoko Honda is a pianist/ composer/ improviser who has created a very distinctive sound through her holistic approach to music. Backed by an exceptional classical technique, and stylistic influences ranging from jazz to Indonesian music and contemporary prepared piano, Motoko composes structured improvisations intended to affect the skin, organs and minds of the listener instead of simply being heard as rhythmic and harmonic themes.


She has performed with many renowned musicians & artists such as Wadada Leo Smith, Vinny Golia, Jeff Gauthier, Alex Cline, Emily Hay, Joe Berardi, Andrea Centazzo, Jesse Gilbert, Fumiko Amano and Carole Kim. 

Oguri, a native of Japan, began his career as a dancer with master Tatsumi Hijikata, the creator of the Butoh dance form in post World War II Japan. Oguri teaches and performs worldwide, and has received support from the California Arts Cou ncil, the James Irvine Foundation/Dance USA, the New England Foundation for the Arts National Dance Project, the Rockefeller Foundation and the City of Los Angeles Cultural Affairs Department.
